Curry & Associates has worked for many years in marginalized communities targeting the needs of and its proposed community building initiatives through economic empowerment of Minority & Women Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE’s). Our work has been focused on diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring that State Agencies comply with Article 15A, which mandates that Minority and Women Owned Business Enterprises receive 30% of all State procurement contracting opportunities. Identifying Federal, State, City, County & Private opportunities is a key component we use to grow contract opportunities for all business owners. As a former elected School Board Member, Curry also impacted diversity and inclusion issues with her government and municipal partners. Her efforts helped realize the finalization of the Billion Dollar Reconstruction Project for all the Buffalo Public Schools - better known as the Joint School Construction Board (JSCB) with participation from diverse small businesses. She is still intimately connected to the Buffalo School District in a variety of manners. Curry volunteers with the Adult Education Division and served as a member of the committee charged with preparing the application for the successful COE (Council on Occupational Education) Accreditation application for our Cosmetology & Barbering program. She also works as a task force member for the CCI - Career Collegiate Institute and the Community & Continuing Education Committees.
